Waynetown, April 2 - Mrs. Anna Louisa Schenck, 76, wife of Oliver Schenck, prominent in Farm Bureau work in Montgomery County, died at her home southeast of Waynetown at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning after an extended illness. Mrs. Schenck had been in failing health since she suffered a stroke in 1936. For the past 4 weeks she had been critically ill with carcinoma. Born Jan 26, 1871 near Waynetown Mrs. Schenck was the daughter of John and Lydia Jennings Harpel. Her marriage to Mr. Schenck took place on Christmas Day in 1898 at her home. Mrs. Schenck was a member of the Christian Union Church near her home. Before her marriage she was a schoolt eacher in Montgomery County. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Viola Schenck, at home, three sons, John C. Schenck, Kenneth H. Schenck and Russell R. Schenck, all prominent farmers of near Waynetown; a brother, A. D. Harpel of Shannondale, a half brother, Floyd Harpel of Wisconsin; a sister, Mrs. Rosie L. Stipes of New Ross and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Union Church near the Schenck home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. O.J. McMullen of Ladoga, former pastor of the church assisted by Mrs. Esther Anderson of Crawfordsville, the present pastor. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. -- typed by kbz
